I was struck with fear. I suddenly wanted to shield him from public middle school.

I went to that blog link that you sent me. I came across a post that was written a few days ago, and my heart was torn in pieces. I realized I have lost the joy in raising my son.

I have become annoyed with hearing "mom" a hundred times a day, with having to constantly entertain my son. I thought I would be relieved this morning when he got on the van to go to school...but I'm not.

I'm "hit" this morning with a reality that I have some highly distorted priorities. I just wanted "my time" back, my "norm", my "routine" back. Sigh.

Thank you for writing this, and for the parents who read this and feel guilty because they have longed for their children to go back to school, I "get it". I understand. I know what that's like.

At this point, I don't feel like I'm to homeschool him, BUT I know I need to shift my thinking and my attitude. I need to pray for the joy of raising my children. I need to repent for being so selfish. But most of all, I need Jesus' eyes to see my "young teen" through His eyes. He still needs me. He still needs me to JOYFULLY guide and direct him, especially now that he's in middle school.

So, thanks again. Your message, in my inbox this morning, was truly a divine appointment for me to take a look at my heart and its attitudes.

BLessings friend, HeavenHeavenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15000637945435094609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003604695799352263.post-77221748384006066922011-08-10T18:26:45.031-05:002011-08-10T18:26:45.031-05:00What a great post, Amy! The reason you struggle is homeschooling is not the best for you, your time, or your own lifestyle. Quit the bogus, self-righteous parade of emotion and be truthful. You don't want to homeschool. Pray about that, for strength to do it, but don't lie saying you don't know what is right, unless of course you really do not know what is right or wrong. Is your excuse you don't think God wants you to homeschool? Please! Such an excuse is nothing more than a pious attempt to revel the troops in some prayer pursuit so you can seek solace from your cohorts who support your decision not to do God's will and what is best for your kids at the cost of your own lifestyle. Quit blaming God for the weakness of your own flesh. A disciple sucks it up and gives their life (lifestyle) for the brethren...starting with their own kids! Admit it, your flesh would rather get the kids out of the house, so don't blame God saying He is not giving you an answer. If He isn't, your bigger problem is why isn't He talking to you. Why would your Father ignore you? If you are truly His, then He isn't talking to you because He already has..."you already know" the answer. Our Father is not going to placate you or honor your self-righteous fib. Again, if you decide not to homeschool it's because you don't want to, not because homeschooling isn't the right thing to do– and you know it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6003604695799352263.post-21388665998349327242011-04-02T20:52:07.269-05:002011-04-02T20:52:07.269-05:00Great stuff, Amy!
